Hylke van der Toom (1987) is a staff otolaryngologist at the department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He obtained his medical degree (MD) from the Erasmus University in 2014. He fulfilled his otorhinolaryngology training at the Erasmus MC in 2019, whereafter he completed a 2-year followship in Neurotology at the Erasmus MC and the European Institute for ORL-HNS in Antwerp, Belgium. After this fellowship, he started as an otologist at the Erasmus MC in which he is involved in the tertiary care of all ear and hearing problems. In February 2023 he successfully defended his PhD, entitled “Outcome of choleteatoma surgery: Obliteration versus non obliteration techniques”.
